The silk for the scarves

The scarves are made of Habutoi silk, produced by silk worms and imported from China.  The edges of the scarves have been rolled and finely hand-stitched.

The silk is transparent when held up to the light.  Any paint becomes a filter for the light.  Sue has chosen to used steam-fix dyes because of their greater intensity.

The silk has a beautiful sheen and delightful texture.
